'Tower of Babel'
UCA Farnham

Graphite on plaster wall, 1.5m x 2m

This was an ambitious project to start with that then was developed further into an exciting and for me, new context when I was presented with the opportunity to create a mural for my Universities Illustration department.

Another project where I was balancing a carefully considered concept focusing on the relation we have with others and when working on group or collaborative projects.

The original image created for an in-university exhibition was admired by the illustration department and program director that I was asked to rework the composition onto a wall in the illustration corridor.

The exhibition image was seen by the entirety of the staff at the university as well as members higher up such as the vice chancellor and I was told by the programme director that the work fits fantastically with the ethos of the University and that it would make for a great mural.

Displaying both a technicality and focus on drawing itself, which is an integral part of the illustration process; the scene also includes a variety of aspects such as creativity, diversity and community all of which the university prides itself on and where overjoyed to have such a different and bold artwork to show that on permanent display done by a student.
